devos112508 – “trust the Lord”

Exodus 9-10; Luke 15-16; Psalm 25; Proverbs 25 (The Message)

God’s Message: I’ve made him stubborn, him and his servants, so that I can force him to look at these signs and so you’ll be able to tell your children and grandchildren how I toyed with the Egyptians, like a cat with a mouse; you’ll tell them the stories of the signs that I brought down on them, so that you’ll all know that I am God.”

God’s Promise: You are a child of God, like the Israelites, you’ve been chosen by God. You aren’t like the others, there is a clear line drawn in the mind of God. One camp see light, another, sees darkness. One is tormented by boils, another does not. It’s good to be on the side of God. It’s good to be called His child.

A good father doesn’t resent you because of your mistakes… He doesn’t care about the past..

“…’Father, I’ve sinned against God, I’ve sinned before you; I don’t deserve to be called your son ever again.’ “But the father wasn’t listening. He was calling to the servants, ‘Quick. Bring a clean set of clothes and dress him.”

His father didn’t even listen to him, as he tried to apologize, and make up for something that he could never repay. Instead of reducing his blessings, the father threw the biggest party for him. So big, his other faithful son got jealous!

God’s Command: Care for your sheep, know the state of your herds. How can I help them to grow, if I don’t even know them?? But when one comes back, when they are “found” celebrate, and rejoice that they are back!!

God doesn’t love me because I’m a faithful hard worker. God loves me, because I’m HIS SON!!!

God’s Warning: You really want the blessings of God? Maybe you can do this…

“….There, undisciplined and dissipated, he wasted everything he had.”

GOD DOESN’T WANT ME TO FREAKING COAST!!

I want you to be smart in the same way—but for what is right—using every adversity to stimulate you to creative survival, to concentrate your attention on the bare essentials, so you’ll live, really live, and not complacently just get by on good behavior.”

My question: What are God-worshipers like?
Your answer: Arrows aimed at God’s bull’s-eye.

God-friendship is for God-worshipers;
They are the ones he confides in.

Personal Ap: God has a reason for everything. Because something doesn’t make sense, only means it doesn’t make sense TO ME. Trust the LORD, with all my heart, no matter what, NO MATTER WHAT.

To worry is to waste time. Cry out to Jesus, and then relax.
